Is It Time for a Dating Reset? Recognizing When You Need a Break from Dating Apps

How do you know when it’s time for a dating reset?

Last week, I asked you about your dating goals and frustrations. This post is inspired by the many, many frustrations I received.

Of the 100 people who participated in the poll, these are the results. Here’s how folks are dating these days:
💌 77% use dating apps
💌 17% meet through friends
💌 4% utilize meet-up groups
💌 2% utilize social media apps

While this is a small survey size, it shows a significant reliance on dating apps. The frustrations folks listed tended to reflect this, as well.

If you’ve been actively dating for a while and you’re feeling stuck, it may be time for what I call a dating reset. A dating reset is taking a set period of time away from dating. Focusing on yourself, hanging out with friends, developing a new hobby. There is no set amount of time for this (anywhere from 1 week to 1 year). Here’s how to know if you may be overdue for one:

🚩You’re exhausted
🚩You’re not impressed with the dating pool
🚩First dates are no longer exciting
🚩You don’t feel valued
