What It’s Like Dating a Sex Educator
A touch of personal experience mixed with a dash of a professional role as a sexuality educator gives background to this post’s genesis.
Candidly, I’m exhausted. I’m tired of the expectations people have around dating sexuality professionals. I’m tired of the assumptions made about what it’s like to be with ~one of us~ or what we’re into or not into in bed. Sexuality professionals are objectified and it’s time to talk about it.
The phrases in the left column of this image represent assumptions potential partners have made about me when learning about my professional role in sexuality.
I dedicate this post to my fellow sexuality professionals who have been labeled and seen based off their professional role rather than their core being. I see you.
This is a continuing conversation beyond the realm of sex education, but I wanted to start here as I know other sexuality professionals can relate specifically to this experience.
