Why It’s Time to End the “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” Narrative in 2025

It’s 2025, can we stop the “crazy ex girlfriend” narrative already?

I’ve seen so many conversations about women decentering men from their lives in 2025, but I wonder how far this commitment extends beyond dating, if at all?

For this to really work in the way it’s intended, you have to take time to reflect deeply and thoughtfully about your relationships to friends, culture, and beyond.

For example, when someone speaks out about abuse they experienced, who are you more likely to believe, and why?

The patriarchy works in not-so-mysterious ways. It’s so easy for women to get hung up on their ex’s new girl, comparing every inch of themselves. The same is true for the new girl looking back to their current partner’s exes. They want you to compare, to find and feel insecurity.

That’s what we have to break, and playing into the “crazy ex girlfriend” narrative isn’t helping.

tldr; If a woman is saying a man is sh!t, it’s time to start believing them.
